Pretty Rhythm Sacred Secret, or PRSS, is the story of Kasukabe Utau, a shy, quiet girl who has always been interested in doing Prism Shows. This story includes the groups Cashmere♫Notes, NOVA, and Rainbow♠Spades . The theme is the legendary Pegasus. The legendary jump is called "Sacred Pegasus Secret', and the legendary act is called "Rainbow Pegasus Sky!".

Their name derives from the fact that each of their names have something to do with singing and flying. Utau literally means 'song', while Kanada relates to music and Tsubasa means 'wings'. They are the main group of this series, and together, their names could give the meaning of a singing Pegasus, as that is a flying horse.

Their name derives from the fact that each of their names have to do with their dreams. Hoshi means 'want', Yume means 'dream' and Nozomi means 'wish'. They are the main rival group of this series, and they want, dream, and wish to be a nova-like star, meaning a burning star in the sky.
